I've Got A Feeling

In this exercise two colours had to be combined to illustrate 20 concepts/emotions. Getting the balance right took much longer, and more reflection than I'd expected. I enjoyed exploring the conceptions and emotions through colour and was keen to get combinations than reflected how I actually felt about them rather than initial responses that were based on other people's responses.

The Inner Light

Using only the picture of a light bulb, the text "light bulb" and a block of yellow colour I was surprised how enjoyable this exercise was, and how diverse the images were. Creating a feeling of space, depth and contrast seemed to be the key. I've edited my efforts down to twenty that I think represent the range of approaches.

  

Only A Northern Song

My wife plays in the local brass band and I was asked to design a poster advertising their services. It was great to be able to design something knowing it would be seen locally. It was also good to be able to draw on the knowledge I have acquired so far.
